The updated HSG 246 Safety In The
Storage And Handling Of Steel And Other Metal Stock written in conjunction
with the HSE and Wolverhampton City Council, has been recently updated and will be the main point of reference for HSE Inspectors investigating Steel Service Centres facilities going forward. This revised guidance is aimed at directors, owners,
managers and supervisors and pays particular attention to the most common
hazards, including (un)loading of delivery vehicles, storage systems, workplace
transport, mechanical lifting and injuries from sharp edges.
